Move over Moon Milk… we’ve taken it to the next level with this Mellow MOOD MILK!
We’ve combined some of our favourite mood-enhancing, stress relieving and sleep supporting herbs in this delicious warming and relaxing recipe.
We’ve been on a real Kava kick lately, with our new single cultivar Premium Kava Range there’s so much to explore. And, as Kava is such a great herbal ally to unwind with at the end of a big day, we thought – this would go perfectly in a relaxing and warming milk recipe… and it does! But we thought, let’s include Mucuna as well, to help boost mood & increase dopamine levels…. so voila – it’s no longer moon milk, but MOOD MILK!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 tablespoon of Kava powder, traditional grind. (Alternatively use 1 tsp of our Instant Kava Powder)
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup Milk (of your choice)
- 1 tsp Ashwagandha powder
- 1 tsp Mucuna powder
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 tablespoon of Honey
DIRECTIONS:
Scoop the Kava into a strainer bag and place inside a bowl. Add 1 cup of water and massage for 5 – 10 minutes, intentionally infusing it with good vibes. Squeeze out excess liquid from the bag and set aside. Alternatively, if you want to use Instant Kava Powder, simply dissolve 1 tsp into 1 cup of water.
In a saucepan, add the Milk, Ashwagandha, Mucuna, Cinnamon, Turmeric, Vanilla and Honey. Gently heat while stirring well. Once hot & well blended, turn off the heat and add the Kava liquid. Stir in well. Check temperature and gently heat a little more if needed. (You don’t want to cook the Kava!).
Stir and immediately pour into cups, as the Kava can settle. Drink at the end of the day to relax the body, mind and spirit, and melt into the beautifully blissful & mellow mood of this divinely warming cuppa.
