Support liver health with this tasty condiment!

Milk Thistle is one of our favourite herbs for liver health. Not only does it protect liver cells, but it helps regenerate them as well. There is heaps of research into its protective effects, and it’s one herb that we recommend to almost anyone living in our polluted world! It’s a great herb to use before or after taking intoxicants that can tax your liver.

We love this recipe, as it makes it easy and delicious to get your daily dose of Milk Thistle – just sprinkle on almost any savoury dish.

Milk thistle - Flowering plant

You’ll need: 

  • 1/2 cup raw Sesame Seeds
  • 2 Tablespoons Milk Thistle powder
  • 1 teaspoon Himalayan Salt

Method: 

  • Place sesame seeds in a heavy skillet, and turn on low heat.
  • Toast seeds slowly on low, until golden and fragrant. (Take care not to burn!)
  • Let seeds cool completely.
  • Transfer to a mortar and pestle, or you can also use a food processor or blender.
  • Crush seeds with pestle, or pulse a few times in food processor or blender.
  • Transfer to a bowl and stir in Milk Thistle and Salt.
  • Transfer to a clean dry jar and label.
  • Sprinkle on rice, salad, or any savoury dish!
  • Enjoy good health and a happy liver!
